Schaeffler is one of the world’s leading suppliers
of rolling bearing and plain bearing solutions, and
of linear and direct drive technology as well as other
high-precision products and systems for engines,
transmissions and chassis.
The German owned company, which employs
80,000 people worldwide, remains dedicated to its
automotive aftermarket activities.
Schaeffler’s aftermarket division has 11,500
distribution partners and 30 sales and representative
The aftermarket specialists offer a portfolio of
more than 40,000 products in original-equipment
The product portfolio includes individual clutch
parts and clutch repair sets under its LuK brand,
engine and transmission components (INA) and
chassis components (FAG). The Ruville brand –
which was recently brought under the Schaeffler
umbrella – offers Schaeffler high-quality products
and repair solutions not manufactured by the group.
Appropriate repair solutions for garages and
distributors worldwide, as well as a comprehensive
service program, complete the portfolio.
Australian Automotive Aftermarket Magazine
recently visited two of Schaeffler’s world class
facilities – in Herzogenaurach Germany and Kysuce
The sheer size of the factories and the number of
parts they produce is mind-boggling to say the least,
but it is also the organisation and efficiency of the
operations that you can’t help being impressed by.
It’s therefore no surprise that Schaeffler
aftermarket parts – sold and marketed under its four
previously mentioned brands – are of equal quality
to the parts it supplies directly to automotive
manufacturers around the world because they are
produced on exactly the same manufacturing lines.
In fact, at its INA Kysuce facility, Schaeffler
claims that aftermarket accounts for between 30 to
40 percent of the production on many of its bearings
Naturally the older the generation of the
particular product line the higher the percentage of
aftermarket is produced.
While it’s one thing to produce some of the
world’s best automotive aftermarket parts, its
another to market them, and perhaps more
importantly to train those who will be end users with
the know-how and benefits of using them.
This is why Schaeffler promoted its RepXpert
knowledge and training program at this year’s
Automechanika Frankfurt, held in September, which
included a sneak preview of its new-look website,
In 2014, Schaeffler completed over 1,700
training seminars with over 56,000 participants on
a global scale.
Demand for training seminars from Schaeffler
Automotive Aftermarket continues to grow. This is
because in everyday garage businesses,
professionals are faced with challenging repair jobs
all the time as a result of new technologies, a variety
of new models and ever-more complex products,
which require expert know-how to deal with them.
While Schaeffler is doing its best to facilitate
these training needs on a global scale, it is the
RepXpert website that has the potential to reach
many more re-sellers, mechanics and other end-
users. The website provides detailed technical
information, repair instructions and helpful
installation tips for all vehicle classes, makes and
The website is user-friendly and is updated daily,
and importantly for users in this part of the world,
includes all of its information in its English version.
While the global version is fully accessible for
Australian repairers and re-sellers, a specific
Australian RepXpert portal wil be available in line
with the 2015 Australian Auto Aftermarket Expo.
While visitors to Automechanika Frankfurt
received a teaser of what the updated portal will look
like, the rest of the world won’t have to wait too
much longer, with the official worldwide launch of
the new-look site expected to take place by the end
Daily updated product information about all four
of Schaeffler’s brands is also available in the new
version of the Schaeffler Automotive Aftermarket
This can be accessed easily on the internet at
www.schaeffler-aftermarket.com. Registration is not
required and the online catalogue lets users access
specific service information from the passenger car
segment for the LuK, INA, FAG and Ruville brands.
Schaeffler also used Automechanika Frankfurt
to unveil its INA GearBOX, INA FEAD KIT, and
Ruville Rear-Axle Repair Solution and Ruville Brake
KIT in Original Equipment Quality.

innovations from the Schaeffler Group please visit
