The top three finishing cars of Jamie
Whincup/Paul Dumbrell, David Reynolds/Dean
Canto and Craig Lowndes/Warren Luff were all fitted
with Sachs Formula Matrix Dampers, while the
TeamVodafone entries in first and third places also
used a Sachs RCS 184 carbon clutch.
The Whincup/Dumbrell combination dominated
proceedings, leading a total of 102 of 161 laps,
with the victory the fifth in seven years for the Triple
Eight Race Engineering outfit.
The second place result for Reynolds and Canto
represented the pair's first ever V8 Supercar podium
finish, with the 0.3129 second margin of victory

special retro liveries in the race, including the
second placed Bottle-O Racing entry, as well as the
Lowndes/Luff car, which paid homage to Peter
Brock's legendary paint schemes from the 1970s.
Lowndes sat in ninth position with 36 laps
remaining, before charging through the field to
claim the bottom step of the podium.
The result was Lowndes' eighth podium finish at
Bathurst in the past 10 years.
Earlier in the weekend, Trading Post Ford
Performance Racing driver Will Davison used Sachs
dampers to score a stunning pole position, edging
out Whincup by only 0.0315 of a second.
Not only was the Sachs brand represented in the
main race by more than 70 percent of the
competitors, but also the support categories,
including the Dunlop V8 Supercar Series, the
Porsche City Index Carrera Cup, and the Australian
Formula Ford Championship.
Highlights in these races for Sachs fitted cars
included new Bathurst lap records, with Craig Baird
setting a new Carrera Cup mark and Anton De
Pasquale resetting the 10 year old Formula Ford
time.One of the most popular attractions at this year's
event was a series of demonstration laps by a 2006
American Le Mans Series LMP-2 Porsche RS2
Spyder, driven by Dutch sports car expert Jeroen
Fitted with a Sachs triple-plate clutch and
dampers, the car wore its original Penske Racing
yellow and red paint scheme, which featured
significant ZF and Sachs signage.
