FORMER COP INVENTS NEW
CAR SECURITY DEVICE
Retired Australian police officer Bob Lycoudis is seeking distributors across the
country for his Coplock security device invention.
Mr Lycoudis, who has a lot of experience
in vehicle thefts, developed Coplock to
counter the ability of thieves using cheap but
sophisticated electronic security breaking
devices to steal cars.
The electronic devices, which can
purchased for as little as $30 on the internet,
allow thieves to target older cars along with
more prestige vehicles, which until recently,
were considered totally secure.
Coplock locks the brake pedal and pedal
arm to the floor in a completely different
design to the traditional steering wheel lock.
The control knob is tightened and key
locked in place within seconds.
Mr Lycoudis studied mechanical and
electronic locking devices from around the
world when designing Coplock, which has
been billed as virtually indestructible.
"Case hardened steel construction makes
it extremely hard to cut off and virtually
impossible to bypass or break due to its
unique design and robust construction," Mr
Experts suggest that experienced thieves
take less than 30 seconds to steal an older
vehicle not equipped with an engine
immobiliser while professionals take only 12
seconds to take a vehicle with an electronic
The mechanical Coplock's size, weight
and ease of use makes it user-friendly and it
does not void any vehicle warranty.
It retails for $59.95 plus shipping and
handling and has a money-back guarantee.
